Children
The Child Care Center at Riverside United Methodist Church was established in 1947 as a preschool for 3 and 4 year-olds. In January 1978, a co-op play group for 2-year-olds was organized, and in the fall of 1979, a full-day center for 3 and 4-year-olds began. In November 1993, the infant-toddler center opened.
Sponsored by Riverside United Methodist
The school is sponsored by Riverside United Methodist Church, and is operated on a non-profit basis. Riverside Child Care is designed to be a fellowship arm of the church in Arlington and surrounding communities. Licensed by the Ohio Department of Human Services, the center complies with state laws and regulations regarding child-care facilities.

Child Development
Home is where the heart is
Riverside Child Care recognizes the home as the primary factor in a child's development, and it is the goal of the program to supplement the care of the child when she or he is away from home by facilitating the child's maximum development. The center meets the needs of each child by providing an environment that supports physical, emotional, and cognitive needs. Each child is encouraged to share, to take turns, and to respect the rights of others.

An Active Life is a Good Life
The center provides both quiet and active play. Large and small muscle activities, art projects, music and rhythms, opportunities for dramatic play, story times, science exploration, and outdoor play enhance the daily lives of the children at Riverside.
